A TS e-challan means a Telangana Police traffic ticket raised under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, which you can look up and pay on the Telangana Police e-challan site, echallan.tspolice.gov.in. This applies across every commissionerate and district of the state, including Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda.
Think of this site as a plain-language helper run independently of Telangana Police and of the government Parivahan portal: every check and every payment is done only through the official Telangana Police site, the national e-challan portal or an official app. For any recent change, such as a new discount order or a court update, the status box above this guide lists the updates we have confirmed so far.
Where to check a TS e-challan: the tspolice address
Hyderabad Traffic Police named echallan.tspolice.gov.in as the official e-challan website in December 2024. Pending challans are shown on its publicview page, which is why many people search for "ts e challan public view". The site covers Telangana traffic challans from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda and the district police units.
TS or TG challan?
Many people now type "tg challan" or "tg e challan" instead. As of our October 2026 research, every source we found, including 2026 guides, still gives the e-challan address with tspolice in it, and we found no confirmed tgpolice e-challan domain. Use the tspolice address until Telangana Police announce otherwise, and treat any unfamiliar "TG challan" website with care.
TS e-challan search by vehicle number or DL number
According to a 2026 third-party guide, the search on the Telangana site works with either the registration number or the driving licence (DL) number. Menu names on the site can be renamed at any time, so trust the labels you see on screen. A ts e-challan check works by vehicle number or by DL number, and the result gives the TS e-challan status of each item.
- Key in echallan.tspolice.gov.in by hand in the address bar. Do not open it from a link in an SMS or WhatsApp message.
- Open the public view page for pending challans.
- Choose to search by vehicle number or by DL number.
- Fill in that number along with the captcha.
- Read the pending challans listed for that vehicle or licence.
If a challan seems wrong, note its number and contact the e-challan help desk listed below. For how the separate national Parivahan portal works, see our e-challan check guide; the sources we checked name the tspolice site for Telangana challans.
Ways to pay a Telangana traffic challan
Payment for a ts challan can be made online or in person. Third-party guides in 2026 report that the Telangana Police site takes UPI, net banking and debit or credit cards.
| Channel | What sources say |
|---|---|
| Telangana Police e-challan site | UPI, net banking and cards, as reported in 2026 |
| Online gateways listed in January 2024 | Mee Seva, e Seva, T-Wallet, Paytm, TS Online and internet banking |
| In person | Traffic police compounding booth (named by Rachakonda police during the 2022 drive) |
The gateway list dates from the 2023-24 drive and changes often, so check which options the site offers on the day you pay. Keep the receipt or screenshot of every payment. For general advice on failed payments and receipts, see our e-challan payment guide.
Telangana e-challan helpline and help desk
Hyderabad Traffic Police published two e-challan helpline numbers in December 2024: 040-27852721 and 040-27852772. News reports in January 2024 also gave an e-challan help desk email, echallanhelpdesk.hyd@gmail.com. Note that this is a Gmail address that appeared in news reports, not a .gov.in address; never send bank details, OTPs or card numbers to any email address.
Before you contact the help desk about a specific challan, keep the challan number, vehicle number and any payment reference ready.
Past Telangana challan discount drives (history only)
Telangana has run pending-challan discount drives as one-time government orders. They are history, not a standing offer. As of the latest sources we checked, no drive was running.
2022 drive
A discount on pending challans was announced across Telangana on 1 March 2022 and was available until 31 March. By 17 March 2022, Rachakonda commissionerate alone had cleared 14,11,625 challans worth Rs 13.59 crore. A later report said the discount ended on the evening of 15 April 2022 with no further extension; sources differ on how the end date moved from 31 March, and the discount percentages for that drive could not be confirmed.
2023-24 one-time settlement
Announced on 22 December 2023 under G.O. Rt. No. 652, it ran from 26 December 2023 and covered only violations before 30 November 2023.
| Vehicle type | Waiver in the 2023-24 drive |
|---|---|
| Push carts | 90% |
| TSRTC buses and drivers | 90% |
| Two-wheelers and three-wheelers | 80% |
| Cars, LMVs and heavy vehicles | 60% |
The first deadline of 10 January 2024 was extended to 31 January 2024 and then, per a report cited by Factly, to 15 February 2024. About Rs 50 crore was collected between 26 December 2023 and 11 January 2024.
Fake discount messages and fake e-challan links in Telangana
Fake discount offers return almost every December. A viral post claiming 80% off for two-wheelers and 60% for cars from 26 December 2024 to 10 January 2025 was false, and Hyderabad City Traffic Police denied it, adding that sharing fake messages is a punishable offence. Hyderabad police also said, in a report of 30 November 2025, that discounts at the nationwide Lok Adalat of December 2025 did not apply to Telangana traffic challans.
- Hyderabad City Police warn that scam links copy the look of the real link. Government websites use the .gov.in domain.
- Past genuine drives were issued as government orders, such as G.O. Rt. No. 652, and were reported in the news. Treat an offer seen only on WhatsApp with suspicion and check it with the traffic police.
- Never install an APK file or open a PDF sent with a "pending challan" message.
- If you lose money or share an OTP, complain straight away through the cybercrime.gov.in reporting site or dial 1930.
Telangana High Court rulings on challan enforcement
Two High Court matters shape how pending challans are collected in Telangana. We report them as published. Anyone with a specific dispute should ask the traffic police or consult a lawyer.
- V. Raghavendra Chary v. State of Telangana (W.P. No. 26655 of 2025): as reported in November 2025, the court observed that fines plus discounts for violators encourage repeat violations. The petitioner was allowed to check whether the e-challan site shows the legal provision and rate for each challan.
- Order of 20 January 2026: the High Court held that police cannot stop motorists and force them to pay pending fines on the spot, or take away vehicle keys, and that citizens may choose how to pay. It directed no coercive steps, including vehicle seizure, over pending challans.
- Contempt notices, May 2026: on a petition alleging the January order was being violated, the court issued contempt notices to senior police and transport officials. The petition also alleged that police were rejecting digital RC and DL copies on the Telangana RTA mWallet app; these are allegations, not court findings.
Pending challans and your licence or RC work
As of October 2026, national rules notified in January 2026 allow licensing and registering authorities to hold back DL and registration applications for challans that have been ignored, and the Supreme Court has asked states to stop certain vehicle services where e-challan dues remain. How Telangana applies these steps alongside its own High Court orders is still developing, so settle or contest old challans first, ahead of a licence renewal or an RC transfer. Our DL renewal guide and DL status guide cover those applications, and the traffic fines page lists the penalty amounts set by the Act.
Questions people ask
What is the official website for TS e-challan?
Hyderabad Traffic Police named echallan.tspolice.gov.in as the official e-challan website, and pending challans are shown on its publicview page. Type the address yourself rather than opening a link from a message.
Is there a new TG e-challan website after the name change?
We found no confirmed tgpolice e-challan domain as of October 2026. Sources still give echallan.tspolice.gov.in, so keep using that address until Telangana Police announce a change.
Can I check a Telangana challan without the vehicle number?
Yes. The Telangana site lets you search by driving licence number as well as by vehicle number, with a captcha in both cases.
Is a Telangana challan discount running now?
Discount drives in Telangana are one-time orders, and none was confirmed as running in our latest research. A viral December 2024 message promising 80% off for two-wheelers and 60% for cars was declared fake by Hyderabad police. Any genuine new order we confirm will be added to the status box above this guide.
Can traffic police force me to pay pending challans on the spot in Telangana?
On 20 January 2026 the Telangana High Court held that police cannot force motorists to pay pending fines on the spot or take their vehicle keys, and directed no coercive steps over pending challans. For your specific situation, get advice from a lawyer or your local traffic police station.
Who do I call about a wrong TS challan?
Hyderabad Traffic Police list 040-27852721 and 040-27852772 as e-challan helplines. Keep the challan number and vehicle number ready.
